Student answer (Band 6.0)
In some countries, an increasing number of individuals are hiring a personal fitness coach instead of playing sports or attending classes for physical exercises. From my perspective, this is largely a positive development as this personal trainer will not only guide at a more personal level but also maintain accurate fitness required for professional athletes.
One main reason for having a personal coach is to receive tailored guidance and support to achieve specific personal or professional goals. This is primarily because physical exercise requires a close supervision to gain strength and maintain body weight, which is challenging to achieve by just playing sports or attending exercise classes. For instance, in Spain, a large number of individuals work out regularly and closely with their personal fitness trainer. Furthermore, these private trainers advice their trainees the right directions and body movement to stay healthy and productive throughout their life.
This is largely a positive trend because having correct support and advice from a personal fitness coach can have a significant contributions on an individual. If a large number of clients follow correct steps and instructions from their fitness trainer they are more prone to develop fitness required for professional athletes. To illustrate, a large number of obese clients in India, hire a professional fitness trainer to control their body mass index and enhance their overall lifestyles. As a result, a large number of trainees are able to make themselves fit and physically prepared to participate at international sporting events.
In conclusion, a growing number of individuals are hiring a professional fitness coach rather than playing sports or attending classes. This trend is a largely positive development due to their personal guidance and preparation to become professional athletes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of this trend. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument that personal training helps people become professional athletes is used in both body paragraphs, which limits the scope of the discussion. While the reasons provided (tailored guidance) are relevant, the essay would benefit from exploring other factors, such as convenience or the social status associated with personal training, to provide a more comprehensive answer. The examples provided are relevant but could be more deeply integrated into the analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'As a result' are used to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally mechanical. The transition between the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and each paragraph has a clear central topic. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disconnected due to the repetitive nature of the supporting arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common collocations like 'tailored guidance' and 'body mass index'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors. For example, 'maintain accurate fitness' is an awkward collocation, and 'advice' is used as a verb instead of the noun form 'advise'. Additionally, the phrase 'make themselves fit' is somewhat simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'requires a close supervision' (unnecessary article), 'these private trainers advice their trainees' (incorrect word form), and 'have a significant contributions' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring greater accuracy in basic grammar, such as article usage and subject-verb agreement, would improve the score.
