Student answer (Band 7.0)
The importance of physical fitness is gaining a huge popularity in all countries across the globe, especially among the younger generation. The trend is so popular that in few nations, personal trainers are even hired by individuals. However, no one is opting for traditional method of being fit via performing regular exercises or by participating in sports. Although social media's influence and challenging work schedules are the reasons that can be held accountable for this scenario, from my standpoint, this trend has deteriorating impacts on the skills development of humans.
One of the major reasons behind this situation is the influence of internet. The content creators on the social media apps such as Instagram, Facebook and You Tube, promote personal training via their sponsored videos which make people align towards these activities. What's more, Public figures also have their own trainers which encourage public to hire one for themselves to experience luxurious lifestyle. Another reason is the hectic schedule of people. Employees with longer working periods are not only occupied with extra work at home but also have household duties to do after work which make them exhausted and unwilling to do exercises on their own. Therefore, personal trainers motivate them to spare some time from their routines to stay fit. Additionally, the focus of a personal trainer is always limited to the one person which enhances the chances of the progress.
On the contrary, I believe, this trend of hiring a trainer is an indicator of downfall for an individual's personal growth. If a person is just training at home and has no social involvement through sports or other activities, they are more likely to grow social anxiety which hinders their interpersonal skills' development. To cite an example, most youngsters in India do not know how to communicate with others because of lack of confidence and interaction skills. Thus, participating in sports plays crucial role in the personal growth of an individual.
Taking everything into account, I conclude that while social media and work schedules of people affect their choices of hiring a trainer instead of performing sport, I certainly opine that it is definitely, a negative development owing to its impact on the growth of individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing reasons for the trend and a clear position on whether it is a positive or negative development. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, such as the discussion on social media influence and the impact on interpersonal skills. However, the argument could be strengthened by acknowledging the benefits of personal training more deeply before refuting them, as the current development is slightly one-sided. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points and reiterates the writer's stance, ensuring the response remains focused throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the transition between the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of its impact is smooth. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'On the contrary', and 'Taking everything into account' are used effectively to guide the reader. While the paragraphing is appropriate, some of the linking phrases are slightly mechanical. Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner, and the referencing is clear throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally sufficient and appropriate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'interpersonal skills', 'social anxiety', and 'hectic schedule'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'gaining a huge popularity' (should be 'gaining huge popularity') and 'make people align towards' (should be 'encourage people to gravitate toward'). While the range is adequate to convey meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is a good attempt at using complex sentences, although some contain minor errors, such as 'no one is opting for traditional method' (missing an article) and 'the focus of a personal trainer is always limited to the one person' (unnecessary article). Punctuation is generally accurate, though there are occasional slips. The errors present do not impede communication, and the overall control of grammar is sufficient for a band 6.5 level.
