Student answer (Band 6.0)
Maintaining fitness standard and healthy body is a priority for every individual. Some people believe personal trainer is required to be fit, however, some believe regular exercise and participating in any sports can help to maintain healthy body. I firmly believe hiring a trainer has a negative impact.
Good health has a become a necessity nowadays. Personal instructor charges high fees, but not everyone can afford it. Despite of paying charges to the trainer, it is not a guarantee people will get desired results. Trainer also provides a diet plan, as diet plays an important role to be fit. Diet plan is an additional cost and difficult to follow on regular basis. For instance, Many gyms offer a trainer with their membership fees, but charges extra for diet program. Personal trainer usually helps to boost a person's will for regular exercise.
There are several benefits of playing a sports on regular basis and do certain exercise at home. Firstly, it is a childhood dream of every individual to play a sport for their country. In the competitive world not everyone can achieve the dream but, people can still play sports with friends and family. It helps to be physically active and also creates a bond with other players. To cite an example, many sports clubs are offering good prices and venues for playing different sports in the city. Another merits of playing sports is it helps to increase our network and help you overcome fear of speaking to strangers.
To conclude, personal trainer can be fruitful but regular exercising and playing variety of sports has an extra edge. I believe participating in various sports at local level is beneficial and helps to maintain healthy and fit body.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The reasons provided for hiring trainers are limited to cost and motivation, and the argument against them is somewhat repetitive. The discussion on sports is more developed, but the link between the two sections could be stronger to create a more cohesive argument. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples that would elevate the response to a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'To cite an example', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. For instance, the transition between the discussion of diet plans and the motivation provided by trainers is abrupt. Paragraphing is generally appropriate, but the internal structure of the second paragraph could be improved to ensure a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'fruitful' and 'necessity', but the range is somewhat limited and repetitive. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'maintaining fitness standard' (should be 'standards') and 'another merits' (should be 'another merit'). The vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a personal trainer', 'a healthy body') and prepositions ('Despite of paying' should be 'Despite paying'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization issues, such as 'playing a sports' and 'maintaining healthy and fit body', occur throughout the text. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms, keeping the score in the 6.0 range.
