Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for hiring personal trainers (time constraints, personalized guidance) and discussing whether it is a positive or negative development. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the benefits of trainers are mentioned in the second paragraph, but the drawbacks are not fully explored in terms of the 'positive or negative' aspect until the final paragraph. To reach a higher band, ensure that the evaluation of the development is more balanced and integrated throughout the essay rather than being summarized only at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Hence', and 'On the other hand' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Inconclusion' (which should be 'In conclusion') and the repetitive use of 'Hence' at the start of multiple sentences. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the logical links between sentences could be more varied to improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'nutritious rich food', 'mind-body coordination', and 'work efficiency'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'body strengthen' (should be 'body strength'), 'plaining' (should be 'planning'), and 'keep their energetic' (should be 'keep them energetic'). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score as they show a lack of precision in more complex lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a personal fitness trainer' vs 'personal fitness trainer'), subject-verb agreement, and word forms (e.g., 'meditation promote them' should be 'meditation promotes them'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and comma splices. The control of complex structures is inconsistent, and while the errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
