Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, there are some countries in which people are hiring a personal fitness trainer for the guidence and help during the workout. Due to this, many people are avoiding sports and excerise classes. In my opinion, this is a positive development and this essay will discuss reasons behind it with relevant examples.

To begin with, hiring a person trainer gives privacy and accountibility to a person. Many people nowadys feel shy working out with big groups; therefore, these kind of people prefers personal trainner so that they can gets full attention and time for entire session. Moreover, personal trainers can help people based on their physical needs and requirements by providing personal diet plans and excerise sessions. For example, I used to take group yoga class, but it did not help me to reduce weight. But, now when I taking sessions from a personal trainer, it is helping me to achieve better results as I am getting his full focus.

On the other hand, sports and excerise help people a lot to stay fit and healthy. However, lack of guidence during acitivities could result in physical injuries. For example, one of my friend used to do workout everyday, but he was no taking help from professional. Due to this, he injured his shoulder because he forced his body to do some excerise. Furthermore, when a person working out alone, they need motivation and self encouragment. Sometime people get lazy when they do not have someone to motivate them. Therefore, I believe personal trainer plays a vital role in doing this.

To sum up, personal fitness trainers help people to achieve better results in short duration of time. Hence, I feel it is better then playing sports or doing exercise without any guidence or support.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for hiring personal trainers and providing a clear opinion that it is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of privacy, accountability, and professional guidance. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the negative aspects of exercising alone could be more deeply explored to contrast effectively with the benefits of a trainer. While the position is clear throughout, the support for the 'positive development' stance relies heavily on personal anecdote rather than broader societal analysis, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons for hiring trainers from the counter-arguments. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences feels slightly disjointed. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'accountability', 'physical needs', and 'professional guidance'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'guidence' (guidance), 'excerise' (exercise), 'trainner' (trainer), and 'acitivities' (activities). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on accuracy in spelling and attempt a wider range of less common lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'these kind of people prefers' instead of 'these kinds of people prefer' and 'one of my friend' instead of 'one of my friends'. Additionally, there are tense inconsistencies, such as 'when I taking sessions'. While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
