Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the development of ideas. While you introduce the topic and mention reasons for hiring a personal trainer, the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. You have not addressed the second part of the prompt—whether this is a positive or negative development—beyond a brief mention in the introduction. To improve, you must ensure you fully develop each point with supporting evidence and complete the essay by addressing all parts of the prompt. The current length prevents a higher score as the response is essentially a fragment.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization by using transition words like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. However, because the text is incomplete and ends abruptly, the overall progression is interrupted. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a conclusion or a fully developed argument makes the structure feel fragmented. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas flow logically toward a conclusion. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices, such as 'consequently' or 'furthermore', would also help improve the flow between your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, such as 'individualized workout plan' and 'physical condition'. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'a person fitness level' (should be 'a person's') and 'client job is quite demaning' (should be 'the client's job'). The range is limited due to the short length of the response. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms and possessives are used consistently throughout your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For instance, 'a personal fitness trainers' should be 'a personal fitness trainer', and 'employing a trainer help' should be 'helps'. You have attempted some complex structures, but they are often marred by errors in subject-verb agreement and missing articles. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb endings. Increasing the variety of your sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will help you reach a higher band score.
