Student answer (Band 6.0)

In some nations, majority of individuals are hiring a personal fitness rather than playing sports or doing excercise classes. In this essay, I will not only explain the reason for this but also explain why I think that it is constructive development.

To commence with, the most predominent reason is that, people want to achieve their fitness goals quickly. Fitness trainers understand the person demand they make a proper workout timetable and diet plan. By follow the trainners techniques people became more fit and feedle. For instance, a person who want to get relief from back pain they can reduce it by doing physical excercise which are recommened by their personal tariners. Turning towards postive development, physical excercises are more beneficial for people physical and mental health. It also help to reduce the health issues such as obesity and heart diseases. Personal trainners make physical excercises easier for begiiners and they provide the proper instructions to people. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the task: explaining the reasons for hiring a personal fitness trainer and discussing whether this is a positive or negative development. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay, stating that hiring trainers helps people achieve fitness goals quickly and safely, which is viewed as a constructive development. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning how trainers help individuals with back pain or obesity. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in places, and some arguments are slightly repetitive, such as repeatedly mentioning obesity and injuries across multiple paragraphs. Overall, the content fully meets the requirements for Band 6.5, leaning towards Band 7 for clear task coverage, but the depth of development keeps it securely at a Band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is coherent overall with a clear logical arrangement. The writer attempts to sequence ideas using transitional markers such as 'To commence with', 'Another reason is that', 'Turning towards postive development', and 'To conclude'. However, paragraphing and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty. For instance, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth transitions. Paragraphs are used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas—reasons in the first half and the evaluative stance in the second half—but internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved. There are minor formatting issues and awkward phrasing in transitions, placing this performance at a Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'predominent', 'constructive development', and 'hazardous injruries'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'excercise' instead of 'exercise', 'feedle', 'trainners', 'beneficail', 'inquries', 'siting', and 'diesases'. While these errors do not severely impede communication because the context remains clear, their frequency prevents the writer from achieving a higher band. The lexical control shows a mix of appropriate vocabulary and recurrent mechanical spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-style examples (e.g., 'a person who want to get relief...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly involving subject-verb agreement ('majority of individuals are', 'a person who want'), missing articles ('a personal fitness' instead of 'a personal fitness trainer'), and awkward prepositional phrases ('by follow the trainners techniques'). Punctuation and sentence structures occasionally lead to awkward phrasing that requires the reader to decode the meaning. Although meaning is generally communicated, the density of grammatical inaccuracies keeps this criterion at a Band 5.5.
