Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the reasons for hiring a personal trainer and whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples. Furthermore, the response suffers from a significant under-length penalty, containing only 209 words, which falls well short of the mandatory 250-word minimum. While the writer touches on a hectic lifestyle and social anxiety as reasons, and mentions negative effects like loss of social interaction and high costs, the development remains superficial. These combined shortcomings limit the task achievement score to a band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the overall progression is somewhat disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'To illustrate this', others are misused or mechanical, leading to awkward transitions between sentences. For example, sentences like 'Hence, they hire tutor who can train them to make their lifestyle healthy' lack smooth logical flow from the preceding thought. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is erratic, creating an overall impression of a band 5.0 in coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word choice errors throughout the text. Examples include 'partispting' instead of participating, 'schadule' instead of schedule, 'nagetive' instead of negative, and 'tutoe' instead of tutor. The student attempts some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'fitness activity' and 'personal fitness trainer', but the frequent inaccuracies in spelling and word collocation noticeably impede readability in places, aligning the response with the descriptors for band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('This trend happen only because', 'a person is shy... who only feel safe') and missing plural markers or articles. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, with run-on phrasing and awkward syntax evident in sentences like 'To illustrate this, a person is shy to do anykind of exercise, who only feel safe when he is doing workout alone.' These frequent errors place the grammar firmly at a band 5.0.
