Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, the number of people who are hiring a personal fitness trainer is significantly increasing and less people are relying on playing sports or exercise classes to get fit. The raesons include better services provided by the trainer and keeping tracks of the routine of an individual. Although sports or fitness classes would be an easy alternative option, I think it is not a completely negative development.

To begin with, a huge number of gyms and trainers are easily available for people these days. There are a few reasons why many individuals prefer peronal trainer rather than playing sports. Firstly, a personal trainer would assist to make a better routine, provide information on healthy diets and suggest better ways of performing several exercises. For instance, a trainer can keep all the records of routines of an individual like their daily meals and check the way they are performing tasks. As a result, it would be beneficial for some people because they will have one person to motivate them on doing regular exercises, preparing healthy meals and to stay fit. Secondly, some people are not aware of various excersies or equipments in the gyms. Having a trainer not only increases the knwoledge of equipments and workouts but also reduce the chances of injuries which may cause due to incorrect usage of such equipments.

Furthermore, I believe it is a positive development, as it is beneficial for people to get a proper training with the help of professional trainers. In addition, some people do not prefer playing sports, as it requires social gatherings or meetups. For example, many individuals find it convenient to hire a personal trainer who suggest different ways to adapt a helathy life style while staying at home. Therefore, it would not ne necessary for them to go outside to stay fit and they can practice various exercises at their house conveniently. Moreover, I think it also creates employment opportunities for young professional to be a fitness trainer which would help community to grow.

In conclusion, Although playing sports is a alternative option, people are hiring professional trainers to balance healthy lifestyle. I think trainer can keep records of daily routines and suggest better ways of using equipments and performing exercises which is more beneficial for people and it also creates employment opportunities for trainers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task, examining both the reasons for hiring a personal fitness trainer and whether this trend is positive or negative. Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. You present relevant ideas regarding the benefits of personalized routines, dietary advice, injury prevention, and job creation, supporting them with explanations. However, some arguments, such as the avoidance of social gatherings in sports, could be extended further for greater depth. Overall, the task is answered satisfactorily, aligning with a Band 6.5 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as the reasons for hiring a trainer versus your opinion on whether it is positive. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, using phrases like 'To begin with', 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Furthermore'. Overall logical progression is maintained, fitting the Band 6 criteria well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'personal fitness trainer', 'alternative option', 'professional trainers', and 'employment opportunities'. There are, however, a few spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'raesons' (reasons), 'peronal' (personal), 'excersies' (exercises), 'equpments' (equipment), and 'helathy' (healthy). Despite these errors, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly without impeding the reader's understanding, which places your lexical performance solidly at Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You make an admirable attempt to use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional and relative clauses ('which may cause due to incorrect usage', 'while staying at home'). However, there are noticeable grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('less people' instead of 'fewer people', 'a trainer can keep all the records of routines... like their'), missing articles, and preposition errors ('motivate them on doing' instead of 'in doing'). These errors occur frequently but rarely impede overall communication, reflecting a typical Band 6 grammatical profile.
