Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people are trying to be fit, lately lot and lots of people have started to hire a personal fitness trainer. Instead of playing sports or doing physical activity.
In my opinion the reason for hiring personal fitness trainer is that, they want a personalized approach and a person who can give them feedback and let them know there weak areas and work on it. People don't want to waste there time and wants to focus on getting their desired result
According to my view there will be a positive development, as the people will be training with a expert trainer, who can help in achieving their target and guide them accordingly. Another benefit can be a personal trainer would help them to motivate, whenever they feel demotivated. An expert fitness trainer would help them stay active, motivated and get fit. One more reason would be there will be less chances of getting injured or getting hurt, as they will be getting trained by a professional.
People might start getting the result and try to work on it further, that pushes them to train further.
On the other hand there are negative impacts too more and more people are going towards hiring professional trainer and not focusing on basic movement or exercise they think that I had an hour session with my trainer and rest of the day they are sedentary. Playing sports also helps with improving your mood and reduces stress levels. They could play with their family or friend that can also be helpful in spending quality time with their loved ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the reasons for hiring a personal trainer and evaluating whether this trend is positive or negative. The writer presents a clear position, stating that people want a personalized approach and that the trend is largely positive while also acknowledging some negative impacts. However, some ideas are somewhat repetitive, particularly the points about motivation and expert guidance in the body paragraphs. While the position is clear, the development of ideas lacks depth and relies on general statements rather than fully extended arguments with specific examples from personal knowledge. This places the response comfortably at Band 6, as it addresses all parts of the prompt though some ideas remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognizable overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, though the paragraphing is somewhat fragmented, especially with the single-sentence paragraph 'People might start getting the result...'. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes basic or repetitive (e.g., 'According to my view', 'On the other hand'). Logical progression is present, but referencing can be unclear at times, such as pronouns whose antecedents are slightly ambiguous. The flow between sentences could be smoother. Overall, the organization is coherent enough to follow easily, aligning with the Band 6 descriptor where cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'personalized approach', 'sedentary', and 'professional trainer'. However, there are noticeable word choice and form errors, such as 'there weak areas' instead of 'their weak areas', 'waste there time' instead of 'their time', and 'with a expert' instead of 'with an expert'. There are also minor spelling and collocation slips throughout the text. Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning without impeding communication, which is characteristic of Band 6 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional clauses and infinitive phrases ('whenever they feel demotivated', 'to help in achieving their target'). However, grammatical errors are frequent, particularly with article usage ('an expert trainer', 'a positive development'), pronoun confusion ('there' instead of 'their'), and run-on sentences or comma splices. Punctuation errors are also present, such as missing commas after introductory phrases. While these errors occur regularly, they rarely impede overall communication, placing this response at Band 6 where a mix of structures is used alongside persistent errors.
