Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries, a large number of people are hiring a personal fitness trainer for their workouts rather than participating in sports or exercise classes such as yoga. I think, this is a negative development.
Some people prefer to train themselves with the personal fitness guide for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that they are not aware of what to and hot to do for the workouts. As a result, they require assitance for it. In addition, they do not have knowledge on what is the best food to intake while workouts. Therefore, some people hire a dietitian too. Another reason is that some people are so busy with their work life that they are unable to find time for their exercise. They believe that personal trainners can motivate them and able to give mental support towards physical trainning.
Acording to me, this development have more disadvantages compare to it's benefits. People might becomes dependent on others which not a good thing. Also, they are running aways from healthy activities like playing sports.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response covers both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for hiring personal trainers and stating a clear position that this is a negative development. However, the task achievement is significantly hampered by the word count. The essay is only 176 words long, falling well short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient extension or detailed examples. For instance, the reasons given regarding lack of workout knowledge and busy schedules are mentioned briefly without elaboration. Because the length requirement is not met, the task response score is capped accordingly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some basic organization with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraphs are short and lack internal depth. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the main reasons', 'In addition', and 'Also', but they are sometimes basic or mechanically applied. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'which not a good thing' where a verb is missing. While the overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow the writer's line of thought, the lack of sophisticated cohesive management keeps it within the mid-bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it is limited and repetitive. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'dietitian', 'motivation', and 'dependent', but there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'food to intake' instead of 'diet or nutrition', and 'running aways' instead of 'running away'. Spelling and word formation errors, such as 'assitance' and 'trainners', also occur. The range is minimally adequate to convey the simple ideas presented, fitting the lower intermediate level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('this development have more disadvantages'), missing auxiliary verbs ('are able to give'), and missing prepositions or copula verbs ('which not a good thing'). Although these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency means that error-free sentences are in the minority, preventing the writing from reaching a higher band score.
