Student answer (Band 6.0)
Staying fit is one of the bigget concerns for people nowadays. Some individuals prefer to hire personal fitness trainer to guide them instead of participating in games or doing exercise classes. This trend can be attributed by several reasons. According to me, it is a positive trend as fitness trainers has more experience and knowledge to guide properly.
The first and foremost reason for hiring a fitness trainer is safety. As the professionals in this field have quite a lot of knowledge and experience. Some people are afraid of starting new things especially exercises. It is fair because doing some of the things by themselves can be harmful. Moreover, some people just need the motivation to stay fit. A personal fitness trainer can be great teacher and motivator as well. Also, sports and exercise require consitency and patience which is lack in people nowadays. Thats why such individuals hire a trainer to stay fit.
Additionally, there are quite a lot of benefits of having a personal fitness trainer. It is much more convenient, time and energy saving. Under the proper guidance of a trainer, a person can achieve fitness goals very easy and quickly. A peronal trainer not only teaches how to gain muscles but also provide with the diet list. Moreover, people can get access to the gym machines very easily by getting a membership. But it is not worth it if they do not have enough information about how to operate things. A personal trainer safely support people to become fit.
In conclusion, people choose fitness trainer over sports and exercise because it is convenient, safe and quick.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the reasons for hiring a personal fitness trainer and providing a clear opinion that it is a positive development. Ideas such as safety, convenience, and motivation are introduced and supported with some explanation, such as 'some people just need the motivation to stay fit' and 'professionals in this field have quite a lot of knowledge'. However, certain points remain somewhat generalised and under-developed, particularly the comparison implied against playing sports or joining exercise classes. To achieve a higher band, the student would need to extend their ideas further with more specific examples or deeper exploration of why trainers are preferred over traditional group settings.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphs are used to separate distinct ideas, such as safety in the second paragraph and convenience in the third. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, as seen with frequent uses of 'Moreover' and 'Also'. Referencing and logical transition between sentences could be smoother to avoid a choppy flow. To improve cohesion further, the writer should employ a wider variety of cohesive relationships and ensure referencing within and between sentences is handled with greater subtlety.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate main ideas successfully. There are attempts at less common phrasing such as 'first and foremost reason' and 'convenient, time and energy saving'. However, noticeable spelling and word choice errors occur throughout the text, including 'bigget', 'attributed by', 'consitency', 'which is lack in people', and 'peronal'. Additionally, awkward collocations like 'provide with the diet list' limit the precision of the response. To progress to a higher band, the student must expand their lexical repertoire and eliminate basic spelling and collocation errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as conditional and infinitive clauses appropriately in sentences like 'Under the proper guidance of a trainer, a person can achieve fitness goals very easy and quickly.' However, frequent grammatical errors are present, including subject-verb agreement issues ('fitness trainers has more experience', 'which is lack in people', 'provide with the diet list'), missing articles, and adjective-adverb confusion ('very easy and quickly'). While these errors do not seriously impede overall communication, they occur regularly enough to restrict the score at this level. Increasing grammatical accuracy through careful proofreading is essential for improvement.
