Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, many people have personal fitness trainers to keep them fit instead of pursuing any sports activities and physical exercises. I personally believe that it benefits them at certain extent but sports activities and physical exercises should not be ignored as it has more health benefits overall.

To begin with, personal fitness trainers provide personalised training to the individuals which benefits their health and keeps them in a good shape. Moreover, by their help people can use heavier and complicated equipments at the gym which help them buidling a strong muscles and gym body which is not possible by doing regular exercise. In addition, they are expertised in choosing a right meal plans for the body. Therefore, people have trust in their qualifications and ability. Also, many celebrities and famous people have personal fitness trainers which makes common people to believe to hire them as a best thing they can do for their health.

On the other hand, sports activities and physical exercise improves overall well-being of individuals. In team sports people learn various important skills like problem solving and interpersonal skills which cannot be teach by the personal trainers. However, it requires more efforts than gym as it learning a sport is a skill and not everyone is interested in it. Also exercise classes and sports do not focus on fulfilling individual needs of people.

In conclusion, I personally believe that people are drawn towards the personal trainers because they provide motivation to humans to work hard to achieve their dream body however exercise and sports benefits overall health but ignore individual needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons people choose trainers, including personalised guidance, access to gym equipment, meal planning and celebrity influence, and you state that the trend has benefits but should not replace sport and exercise. Your position is therefore relevant, though it is not fully consistent: the introduction says trainers benefit people “to a certain extent,” while the conclusion focuses on their motivation and the broader benefits of exercise without clearly judging the development as positive or negative. Some points also need fuller explanation. For example, the claim that trainers help people build muscle is asserted rather than supported, and the celebrity influence point could explain why this affects hiring decisions. Make your overall judgement explicit and develop the strongest reasons with examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons for hiring trainers, a contrast with sports and exercise, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with several points added through “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Also” rather than connected through explanation. The relationship between the two sides is also not always clear: the second body paragraph discusses benefits and drawbacks of sports, but does not directly compare these with the trainer trend. Some references, such as “it” in the final sentence, are unclear. Group related ideas and use clearer links to show how each point supports your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for fitness and health, including “personalised training,” “overall well-being,” “interpersonal skills,” and “individual needs.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word-choice, collocation and word-form errors reduce precision, such as “expertised in choosing,” “a strong muscles,” “dream body,” and “makes common people to believe.” Spelling errors such as “buidling” also detract from accuracy. Some wording is repetitive, particularly “sports activities and physical exercises,” which appears in both the opening and conclusion. Aim for more natural collocations and check word forms and spelling; this would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“which benefits their health”) and contrastive structures (“On the other hand”). Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “sports activities and physical exercise improves” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “which cannot be teach” needs a passive verb form. There are also issues with articles and number in “a strong muscles” and “a right meal plans,” and the final sentence has an unclear structure: “however exercise and sports benefits overall health but ignore individual needs.” Work on agreement, passive forms, articles and sentence boundaries, especially when combining contrasting ideas. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
