Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some countries, an increasing number of people are hiring personal fitness trainer instead of participating in sports or attending exercises classes. This trend is mainly driven by the personalised guidence and flexible workout schedule. In my opinion, this is a largely positive development, although it can have some disadvantages.
On of the main reasons why people prefer personal trainers is that they receive individual attention and exercise programmes that suit their fitness levels and pesonal goals. Unlike group classes, where everyone generally follows the same riutine, personal trainers can design workouts plans according to their person's needs, whether they want to lose weight, build muscles or improve their overall health. Moreover, trainers can protect people's posture and teach them how to perform exercise safely, reducing the risk of injury. Another important reason is convenience, as individuals can arrange trainning sessions according to their busy schedule rathern than following fixed clas timings.
I believe that development is largely positive development because personal training can encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles. With professional guidence and regular encouragement, individuals may become more motivated to exercise consistently and achieve better results. For example, someone who has recently started exercising may feel uncomfortable in a crowded gym. A pesonal trainer can help this person gain confidence by providing suitable workout plan and monitoring their progress. However, a personal trainer can be expensive, so that everyone cannot afford them.
In conclusion, people increasingly hire personal fitness trainers bacause they want personalised support, greater flexibility and professional advice. Although this option can be costly and may offer fewer social benefits, I believe its positive effects on people's health and motivation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the question and maintains a clear view that personal training is largely positive. It gives two relevant reasons—individualised programmes and flexible scheduling—and supports the positive judgement with motivation, safer exercise and a specific example of a beginner gaining confidence. The concession that training is expensive, and the conclusion’s mention of fewer social benefits, add balance. This fits a response that covers the task and extends its ideas. Some points could be developed more fully: the social benefits of sports and classes are mentioned only briefly, and the affordability drawback is not explored beyond noting that not everyone can pay. Explaining these contrasts would make the evaluation more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay is organised clearly into an introduction, a paragraph explaining the reasons, a paragraph evaluating the development, and a conclusion. The progression from causes to your judgement is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Another important reason,” “For example,” and “However” help signal relationships between ideas. The conclusion also returns to the main reasons and position. Cohesion is effective overall, though some connections could be more explicit: the final reference to “fewer social benefits” appears without being developed in the body, and the shift from the example to the cost drawback is abrupt. Develop that contrast in the evaluation paragraph and use references such as “this drawback” where appropriate to make the links smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is adequate vocabulary for the topic, including “individual attention,” “fitness levels,” “personal goals,” “reduce the risk of injury,” and “healthier lifestyles.” These phrases communicate the main ideas clearly, and the response attempts relevant topic-specific language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “guidence,” “pesonal,” “riutine,” “trainning,” and “clas timings.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “protect people’s posture,” “workouts plans,” and “according to their person’s needs.” These inaccuracies do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and control. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations—for example, trainers can “correct posture” and “design workout plans tailored to clients’ needs.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “where everyone generally follows the same routine,” a reason clause beginning “because,” and a concession introduced by “although.” Most sentences communicate their meaning clearly, and punctuation generally supports the organisation. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, plurals and sentence construction: “hiring personal fitness trainer” needs an article or plural form, “attending exercises classes” has an incorrect plural, and “a suitable workout plan” needs an article in the example. The sentence “so that everyone cannot afford them” also expresses the affordability point awkwardly. These are generally understandable, but proofreading article use and checking noun phrases would improve accuracy while preserving the range of structures.
