Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for hiring a trainer, including personalised guidance, progress tracking and motivation, and you state that you see this as a positive development. You also acknowledge the cost and mention alternatives such as exercising at home or joining a gym. These are relevant points, but some are not fully explained. For example, the claim that trainers improve confidence at work is not clearly connected to fitness, and the example about Shilpa Shetty’s client is presented as an extraordinary result without explaining how it supports your general argument. Develop the reasons with clearer cause-and-effect explanations and make your overall judgement more explicit in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, paragraphs presenting benefits and a drawback, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost,” “Secondly,” and “On the other side” help signal the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are added without clear links. For instance, the point about confidence at work follows the discussion of weight loss without explaining the connection. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the opening fragment about a personalised plan and Shilpa Shetty is disconnected from the essay. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s focus, then connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “personal fitness trainer,” “performance,” “regularity,” and “self motivation.” However, word choice, collocation and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “personified plan” for a plan tailored to an individual, “practice fitness plan,” and “attainable goal” where the intended meaning may be setting realistic goals. Phrases such as “made impossible to possible” and “pocket allowance” are also unnatural in this context. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than inserting formal-sounding words. Proofread spelling and use topic-specific expressions such as “personalised training programme,” “track progress,” and “affordable alternatives.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and some attempts at more complex structures, such as “people who have instructor tend to lose weight” and “which brings more regularity and attainable goal.” However, errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles and punctuation are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “Fitness instructor are very discipline” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence structure, while “Which encourage numerous people” is an incomplete sentence. Several sentences also join ideas with commas where a full stop or conjunction is needed. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check singular/plural agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
