Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, awareness of fitness and health have considerably increased. This development is the result of high literacy in our scoiety. A significant numbers of people have started to hire personal trainer rather than participating in outdoor sports activities or joing fitness class. There are several reasons behind this development. This is certainly providing positive results to the society.

To begin, personal trainers have often gained formal education in the field of fitness. They have better understanding and idea of what exercise are beneficial for which body parts. Such knowledge help individuals to build strength and muscles in effective ways. Furthermore, they would share valuable insight about nutrients and vitamins that are beneficial to achieve better results. This deep knowledge and informations help a person to maintain their health and improve fitness effectively.

Conversely, outdoor sports can be challenging at certain extent. Outdoor games such as cricket and football required many individuals to form a team. It is quite difficult task for individuals to manage becuase players may not come everyday due to personal reasons. As a result, they may not able to play a game everyday. On ther other side, gym or yoga does not have such barriers. A person can go to the fitness center at their convenient time and schedule. This flexibility allows individuals to rely on gym and yoga center.

To sum up, although outdoor games are beneficial and enjoyable, it is often associated with their own challenges and constraints such as weather. Fitness trainer can provide some sort of surety to organize the class daily and there are high chances of success.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt: you give reasons for choosing trainers, including expert guidance and the convenience of exercising on an individual schedule, and you clearly call the trend positive. These points are relevant, but the explanation of why people hire trainers is not always fully developed. For example, the discussion of trainers’ knowledge explains a benefit, but does not clearly show why this leads people to choose them over classes. Your conclusion also introduces “surety to organize the class daily,” which is unclear and does not directly reinforce the stated position. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and make the positive judgement more explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, and transitions such as “To begin,” “Furthermore” and “To sum up” help signal stages of the argument. However, progression is sometimes weakened by unclear or awkward links. “Conversely” suggests a contrast with the previous paragraph, although the paragraph mainly gives another reason for choosing a gym; “On ther other side” repeats this contrastive function. The conclusion also shifts to a point about trainers organising classes without a clear link to the earlier argument. Use transitions that accurately show the relationship between ideas, and connect each paragraph’s main point more explicitly to the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “formal education,” “beneficial,” “flexibility,” and “constraints,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited in places, with repeated general terms such as “individuals,” “health,” and “fitness.” Several word-choice, collocation, word-form and spelling errors reduce precision: “high literacy” does not clearly express increased health awareness, “a significant numbers” is inaccurate, and “informations” is not the appropriate form. There are also misspellings such as “scoiety,” “joing” and “becuase.” Build a more precise set of phrases for explaining motivation and benefits, and proofread spelling and common collocations so your ideas sound more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “although” and “because,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “awareness … have … increased” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “what exercise are beneficial” and “Such knowledge help” also show agreement errors. In “players may not able to play,” the verb phrase is incomplete, and “a person … at their convenient time” has an awkward grammatical pattern. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and complete verb phrases. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
