Student answer (Band 5.5)

Across some nations, mostly people avoid playing outdoor activities and prefer hiring a personal trainer. Because people do not like being socialized and do not want to shown up in public. It has both advantages and disadvantages.

On the first hand, choosing personal fitness trainer, rather than going outside and playing sports with others has its own benefits like , people can only focus on themselves, because it helps them to not to get distracted by others. For example, my personal experience says, A person doing exercise classes in public area ended up having suggestions from other, even a person minding its own business and do not ask for it. Which in result, they are lack of focusing in their task and get distracted by other.

On the other hand, hiring personal trainer is more expensive as personal training sessions can cost considerably more than group classes. A person need to pay for multiple sessions each week to stay on track, which can become financial burden. Moreover, doing personal training can be repetitive and boring as there will be not excitement in comparison of playing sport and meeting or interacting with other people, which can be more fun. Furthermore, person can make friends and can gain more networking, which in result a person can never feel all alone.

In my opinion, Disadvantages overweigh advantages in hiring personal fitness trainer, by going outside and meeting different type of people can be more fun and overcome the boredom in person's life and it will bring purpose in person's life. Which is cheaper to own as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both the reasons for choosing a personal trainer and whether this is positive or negative, and your final paragraph makes your negative view clear. The point that people may want to avoid being watched or socialising is relevant, as are the benefits of individual focus and the drawbacks of cost and reduced interaction. However, the reasons for the trend are only briefly introduced, and the example about unsolicited advice is difficult to follow and does not fully show why people generally choose trainers. Some claims, such as exercise bringing “purpose” to a person’s life, are asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, develop the causes more fully and support each main point with a clear explanation or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph presenting a benefit, a paragraph outlining disadvantages, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. You also use signposting such as “On the other hand” and “In my opinion.” However, some links are mechanical or inaccurate, including “On the first hand” and “Which in result,” and the example in the second paragraph moves through several ideas without a clear sentence structure. The conclusion also introduces points about purpose and cost rather abruptly. Use linking phrases more naturally, make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops one central idea in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “personal trainer,” “financial burden,” “repetitive,” “interacting,” and “boredom.” These choices allow you to discuss both the practical and social aspects of exercise. However, the range is limited in places, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “shown up in public,” “gain more networking,” and “overcome the boredom in person's life.” Repetition of “person” and “personal” also reduces variety. Aim to use more precise expressions for the reasons people hire trainers and the benefits of group exercise, while checking that words combine naturally. For example, “avoid being judged in public” and “build a social network” would express your intended meanings more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional explanation with “because it helps them” and a contrast introduced by “Moreover.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people do not want to shown up,” “A person need to pay,” and the fragment “Which in result, they are lack of focusing.” The opening also begins with an incomplete construction: “Because people do not like being socialized…” Work on forming complete sentences, matching subjects and verbs, and using infinitives and passive forms accurately. Breaking the long example into two or three complete sentences would improve clarity while still allowing you to practise complex structures.
