Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some countries, some people are hiring a personal fitness trainer,Because a personal fitness trainer can guide you whats good for your body like everyone has its own calories intake a personal trainer can tell you that how much weight is good for you also guide you howmuch calories you need to burn everyday, and can guide you on everyday intake of food and i think a personal fitness trainer also make you consistent to your fitness and everday life because aloot of peolpe are not going to gym everyday some peolpe are lazy so when someone guided you everyday you become consistent, and its a positive development because you become guided and know about your fitness very well you know about your fitness plan. Fore example, I cannot experienced personal fitness trainer I just usually do excerice at my home and i am not displained to my everyday exersise unfortunately I havenot hire a personal trainer and i would loved to hire a personal trainer in my future rather than doing exercise.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for hiring a trainer, such as receiving guidance on calorie intake and being encouraged to exercise consistently, and you state that this is a positive development. However, the response only partially develops these points. The reasons are mostly listed rather than explained, and the comparison with sports or exercise classes is not explored. Your personal example—doing exercise at home without discipline—supports your view, but it could be connected more clearly to why a trainer is preferable. The response is also 79 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop the argument. Add a second developed reason and explain your position with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable line of thought: it moves from reasons for hiring a trainer to your positive opinion and then to a personal example. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, and the ideas run together, making the progression difficult to follow. The repeated use of “and” and “because” creates a chain of clauses rather than clear links between separate points. For example, the explanation about calorie guidance and the point about consistency would be easier to understand in separate paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence. Use paragraphing and a small range of linking expressions to show how each reason supports your view, and make references such as “you” consistent with the essay’s general argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “calories intake,” “consistent,” “fitness plan,” and “exercise,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “personal fitness trainer,” “guide,” and “fitness.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “aloot,” “peolpe,” “displained,” and “excerice,” which can distract the reader. Some expressions are not natural in this context, including “everyday intake of food” and “guided to my fitness.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for exercise and health, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you explain the benefits without relying on repeated basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas using subordinate clauses and reasons, for example, “because a personal fitness trainer can guide you,” but the response relies heavily on long, joined sentences. These attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “everyone has its own calories intake,” “a personal trainer can tell you that how much weight is good for you,” and “a personal fitness trainer also make you consistent.” There are problems with agreement, pronouns, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. The final personal example also shifts between past and future forms without clear control. Practise writing shorter complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using clauses; check subject–verb agreement and punctuation when editing.
