Dear Mark,

Hope this letter finds you well. Here I am writing this letter to apologize because I will cancel my booking for the part time course I registered from your college in upcoming Fall intake. I booked the Advanced health care course which were begins from next month.

Furthermore, there are several reasons behind cancellation of this course as I am moving to different city for a short duration of time and other reason behind cancellation is the financial condition as I can’t able to pay my whole fees together so I work and save for my tuition fees.

Moreover, I also want to asked about Advanced Accounting course which is in demand now and it is also short duration course and it not only demanding but also cheaper than the other course that can I afford and join. So can you please send me details regarding this course. Looking forward from your side.

Regards,

Gautam

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: identifying the course, explaining the cancellation, and inquiring about an alternative. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the salutation 'Dear Mark' contradicts the instruction to begin with 'Dear Sir or Madam'. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, providing sufficient detail for the reader to understand your situation. To improve, ensure you follow all specific formatting instructions provided in the prompt, such as the required opening, to ensure full compliance with the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'in addition' to link your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is clear, and the overall structure is easy to follow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the referencing within sentences is more precise to improve the flow between your points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'registered', 'intake', and 'tuition fees'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'which were begins' (should be 'which begins') and 'it not only demanding' (should be 'it is not only in demand'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal alternatives for common phrases will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'I can't able to pay' (should be 'I am unable to pay') and 'I also want to asked' (should be 'I also want to ask'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs and infinitive structures.
