Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the course name is mentioned, the reason for cancellation is explained, and a request for a different course is made. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although the opening phrase 'melted heart' is an unusual collocation that does not fit the context of a formal cancellation. The ideas are relevant, but the development is somewhat informal and lacks the professional polish expected in a formal request to an educational institution. To improve, ensure the language remains objective and professional throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the narrative. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition 'Then my best friend remind me' is slightly abrupt. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition'). The overall structure is clear, but the progression of ideas feels a bit simplistic.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several awkward collocations, such as 'melted heart' (likely intended to be 'heavy heart') and 'admit in this course' (should be 'enroll in'). The phrase 'followed my friend circle' is also non-standard. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to basic expressions. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise professional terminology and idiomatic expressions appropriate for formal correspondence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies ('remind' instead of 'reminded'), article usage ('in newspaper' instead of 'in the newspaper'), and preposition errors ('admit in' instead of 'enroll in'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or compound, with limited attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma placement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader and suggest a need for more careful proofreading.
