I booked the Evening English language course that is start to 15th August 2026. My booking reference is 13566.

The reason for cancellation is that i have recently been offered a full time job so can't managed both things. Unfortunately, i will not able to attend to these classes as planned. I apologize for any inconvenience this may course.

In addition, i am still very interested in studying at your college. therefore, i would ask to transfer my booking in different course , especially a weekend course. could you please let me know what option are available and how much fee or i submit fee in installation because it is easy for me.

I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding this matter.

yours faithfully,

Name: maria

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly identify the course, explain the reason for cancellation (a new job), and inquire about alternative weekend options. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to an administrator. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. To reach a higher band, you could provide more specific details regarding your availability or the type of weekend courses you are interested in. The purpose of the letter is clear throughout, and the reader is left in no doubt about your intentions, which satisfies the requirements for this task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific part of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'therefore' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor mechanical errors in sentence structure, such as the transition between the explanation of the job and the apology. The use of paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. To improve, ensure that transitions between sentences are smoother and that you avoid repetitive sentence starters.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'booking reference', 'cancellation', and 'inconvenience'. There are some word-choice errors, such as 'can't managed' instead of 'cannot manage' and 'submit fee in installation' instead of 'pay in installments'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a need for more precise control over collocations and word forms. To improve, focus on learning common business collocations and ensuring that you use the correct form of the word (e.g., noun vs. verb) in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'is start to 15th August' (should be 'starts on'), 'will not able to' (missing 'be'), and 'what option are available' (should be 'what options'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of lowercase 'i' instead of the capital 'I'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will significantly improve your score.
