Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses the three required bullet points: identifying the course, explaining the reason for cancellation, and asking about a different course. However, the response is incomplete as it ends abruptly mid-sentence, failing to finish the final requirement or provide a proper closing. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The explanation for the cancellation is somewhat repetitive and lacks professional tone, and the failure to complete the letter prevents a full realization of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks a clear paragraph structure, which is essential for a formal letter. While there is a basic attempt to sequence ideas, the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall progression. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes misused, such as the repetitive use of 'because' and 'this college'. The lack of a proper sign-off and the incomplete nature of the final paragraph significantly hinder the flow and logical organization of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Bachelore' instead of 'Bachelor', 'addmission' instead of 'admission', and the awkward phrasing 'make me a Chartered'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express the ideas with precision or appropriate formal tone. To improve, you should focus on learning standard collocations for formal correspondence and proofreading for basic spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'I am writing you this letter to inform that recently I booked', 'after did long discussion', and 'he give me a advice'. There is a lack of control over sentence structure, with many run-on sentences and missing articles. The range of structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in verb tense and subject-verb agreement. Significant improvement in basic sentence construction is required.
