Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt. You clearly state which course you booked by mentioning the part-time MBA course, explain your need to cancel due to a shift in interest toward a masters degree in cyber security, and ask about the process of enrolling in a different course and potential cancellation charges. The position is clear throughout the letter, and the main ideas are appropriately extended and supported with relevant details about your career goals. While the tone is occasionally a bit informal for a formal request letter, all requirements of the task are well-covered, ensuring a solid fulfillment of the communicative purpose.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some overall organisation with a clear letter format and distinct paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your points from booking to cancellation and new enquiries. However, the logical progression is at times disrupted by frequent, short, and somewhat disjointed paragraphs, such as separating sentences like 'Hope you are doing well.' and 'Additionally, let me know if any other information is needed from my end.' Furthermore, cohesive devices are somewhat basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple connectors like 'Hence' and 'But now'. To improve, you should group related ideas into more cohesive, well-developed paragraphs and use a wider range of transition words to connect your thoughts more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message about changing courses. You attempt some less common vocabulary related to your studies and administration, such as 'formalities', 'nichae technology', and 'enrolling'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'Recenty' instead of recently, 'nichae' instead of niche, 'couse' instead of course, 'dirmfferent' instead of different, 'learm' instead of learn, and 'chargers' instead of charges. These errors reflect an adequate range of vocabulary with some slips that occasionally catch the reader's eye, though they do not completely impede overall communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms in your letter, attempting various structures to explain your situation and ask questions. However, there are several grammatical errors and punctuation issues. For instance, there is a subject-verb agreement error in 'all the initial formalities has been completed' (should be 'have been completed'), a run-on comma splice in the second paragraph ('...re-thinking on it , I think...'), and prepositional or phrasing awkwardness in expressions like 'get masters degree in MS'. Punctuation is also inconsistent with spaces placed before commas. These errors represent a typical mix where simple sentences are handled reasonably well, but attempts at more complex structures introduce frequent minor errors that occasionally require the reader to re-read.
