Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is always a two different section of people. It is frequently debatable topic whether a purchasing a some costly garments is a better decision than the buying a bunch of pocket-friendly ones . I firmly believe that to shop lots of non expensive clothes is a budget friendly and contributes to boost economy of the nation.
To begin with, cheap clothes always sell by local retailers which doesn’t need any famous personality to advertise those. Which directly cuts the branding cost on it which helps shop keeper to keep their prices low. People can buy those from their local shops without compromising their monthly budget. In addition, they can save on that money and can fulfill their other commitments. for example, buying a third copy of Levi's will help middle class to manage their funds wisely.
In addition to that, cheap clothes always been made in bulk quantity in different colours as well as in all the sizes. To do so, a non branded company needs more employees to produce in a bulk which creates more employment opportunity around the factory area. This empowers the community and supports nation’s economy to grow faster. Furthermore, people can have more choices of getting different colours of the same pattern they might liked. For instance, Gucci has very limited colour code in its products which not everyone likes.
However, Expensive garments is like one time investment. They are of better material and quality of the accessories which makes them to stand alone in the market. Also, the quality isn’t compromised thus it becomes long lasting and sometimes remains the same lifelong. To add further, people don’t have to spend again & again on the same purposed product. To exemplify, prices for ‘Rado’ watches starts from a 2,000 dollars but it never breaks.
To conclude, I strictly agrees that purchasing lots of cheap clothes is an advantage as they saves money and creates employment rather than investing in costly clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding economic benefits and employment are relevant, though the development is somewhat simplistic. The counter-argument regarding quality is acknowledged, but the transition between the benefits of cheap clothes and the benefits of expensive ones could be more nuanced. The ideas are generally supported with examples, such as the mention of local retailers and specific brands, though some examples (like the 'third copy of Levi's') are slightly confusing in context. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition to that', and 'Furthermore' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'There is always a two different section of people'. Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother to ensure a more natural flow of argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'budget-friendly', 'employment opportunity', and 'one time investment'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'a purchasing a some costly garments' and 'same purposed product'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a limited range and a lack of precision in word usage, which prevents a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with articles ('a purchasing', 'the buying'), subject-verb agreement ('cheap clothes always sell', 'I strictly agrees'), and pluralization ('a two different section'). While the meaning remains clear, these persistent errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, the writer should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
