Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent trends, instead of buying number of cheap outfits, they believe in buying few branded clothes. I do not agree with this statement. Firstly, fashion changes continuously. You can not wear expensive clothes in daily routine.
Firstly, the trend is never constant. It keeps changing everyday. Any piece of dress will be outdated . In today's era, it is more important keep up with the current trends rather than just showing off branded clothes. As well, less clothes means ,you need to repeat the outfit. This might be more criticized than not wearing higher valued clothes. To cite an example, the actress from Bolly wood and Hollywood are trolled by paperazi's for wearing out same outfits.
Moreover , the higher priced collection can not wear in daily routine. A person has a lot to do, in daily life. Likewise, going to work , doing house hold chores etc. For this you should be having affordable as well as comfortable linen. Though, cheaper clothes need less maintenance than the branded clothes. For example, if regular wear have normal wear and tear it can be resolved or there is no problem to throw that. If expensive things catches any stain , there is extra cost involved to fix that.
Furthermore, The way you dress up keep changing as per the ocassion. For home, office, wedding, party each function demands varied clothes. This might not possible with less collection in wardrobe. So, it is always better to have comfortable clothes which can be used for different purpose.
To conclude, I do not agree with the notion of having limited expensive clothes rather than plenty of cheaper one.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding fashion trends, maintenance, and the need for variety are relevant and logically linked to the topic. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example of celebrities being 'trolled' is a bit anecdotal and could be better connected to the broader argument about consumer habits. While the task is fully addressed, the depth of analysis is limited, which prevents it from reaching the higher bands. The conclusion clearly restates the position, ensuring the response is well-rounded.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each focusing on a distinct point. There is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, although there are occasional lapses in flow, such as the abrupt transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. The progression of ideas is logical, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task, helping the reader follow the argument without significant difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'outdated', 'maintenance', and 'wardrobe'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'number of cheap outfits' (should be 'a number of') and 'higher valued clothes'. Spelling errors, such as 'Bolly wood' and 'ocassion', are present but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, the student should aim for more precise collocations and a wider range of sophisticated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles ('the actress from Bolly wood'), subject-verb agreement ('expensive things catches'), and punctuation. Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'the higher priced collection can not wear in daily routine'. While these errors do not prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would improve the score significantly.
