Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is a controversial topic that buying few branded clothes are batter than purchasing several cheaper clothes. I personally agree with this statement that people should buy few expensive clothes rather than wasting money on lots of cheaper products.

To begin with, The expensive clothes are made by well reputed companies. These companies are famous for their quality products, their clothes are made from best quality material that provides comfort and last longer as compared to cheaper clothes. For instance, even though Nike is an expensive brand but still many people purchase clothes from Nike Because of their verity in cloths such as specific cloths for running, yoga , gym and casual events.

Additionally, fashion also play a key factory behind encouraging people to spend money on banded clothes. These days, everybody wants to look good and stay up to date with fashion, wearing branded clothes has become a necessity for many people as expensive clothes give a good impression. They believe in the idea that if you look good you feel good and perform better. A part from that people usually consider a man well dresses if he is wearing a branded outfit. Therefore, many people purchase few branded cloths to maintain a high class status in society.

To conclude i believe this is apostive development

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding quality and social status are relevant, they are not fully developed. The conclusion is also abrupt and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Additionally,' and 'Therefore.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the lack of a proper concluding paragraph affects the overall structure. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'batter' instead of 'better,' 'verity' instead of 'variety,' 'banded' instead of 'branded,' and 'apostive' instead of 'positive.' Additionally, there are some awkward collocations like 'well reputed companies' and 'fashion also play a key factory.' To improve, focus on learning accurate spelling and using more sophisticated vocabulary related to consumer habits and fashion trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('fashion also play a key factory'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. There are also issues with word forms, such as 'well dresses' instead of 'well-dressed.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your score.
