Student answer (Band 7.0)
Attire plays a vital role in today's youth in order to look presentable. Hence, youth spend lot of their income, in buying new clothes whether online or offline. However, I do not agree when people spend a lot of money in buying fewer expensive clothes, rather than buying more quantity of non branded ones which can cost relatively cheaper.
Firstly, it is rightly said, 'Investment in clothes plays an important role in shaping one's personality'. However, this doesn't mean one keep on buying expensive clothes. For instance, a survey was held in corporate office, where people were asked how frequently do they get chance to wear those designer outfits? To which maximum respond stated that, those clothes are meant to stay in their wardrobe and can be worn on a couple of special occasions only, like conference or client meeting, which in today's world is mostly conducted online.
On the other hand, people who buy more outfits with no brand tag attached to it, cost relatively cheaper and can wear different outfits as per the occasion, like buying regular business outfit for weekdays, buying business casual for the Friday, or elegant dinner outfit for casual business dinner. Recent article shows, that people who buy lot of cheaper clothes are in the good mood, because they do not get to repeat their outfit that often, which gives them a sense of happiness. Also, they tend to change their style as per the current trends of the market.
Hence I firmly agree with an idea of buying a lot of cheaper clothes, as this feeling not only makes them feel content but also make them set an example of the evolving market fashion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and address the prompt directly. However, the development of your arguments could be more sophisticated. For instance, the point about 'mood' and 'happiness' is a bit subjective and could be strengthened by focusing more on the economic or practical benefits of variety. While you have addressed all parts of the task, the supporting examples, such as the corporate office survey, are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more logical depth rather than relying on general assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'Hence' to guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the connection between the corporate survey and the conclusion of that paragraph is slightly abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, which helps the overall readability of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'presentable', 'designer outfits', and 'content'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'maximum respond stated' (should be 'most respondents stated') and 'cost relatively cheaper' (which is redundant; it should be 'are relatively cheaper' or 'cost less'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the precision is occasionally lacking. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'youth spend lot of their income' (missing articles), 'one keep on buying' (subject-verb agreement), and 'make them set an example' (should be 'enables them to set'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on article usage and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
