Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, people have different views regarding buy few expensive clothes instead of lots of cheaper clothes. I completely agree with the statement and i will discuss in upcoming paragraphs.
To first and foremost point is the quality of the clothes. The expensive clothes are made with good quality fabric and materials. The cost may be high but the color and the design will not be faded earlier. As a result, people do not need to replace it. They will use them for long run. It helps to save money for longer period. For example, if people buy a jacket and the price is $300 then they would be useful for ten years because of their quality.
Another reason is that high or branded companies are more friendly with environment and they use the products that not increase the pollution. If we use few expensive clothes as compare to lost of cheaper one then we not replace the clothes easily and replace or garbage it. It is harmful for the environment. In India, we see a lots of cows are in the street and when they eat that type of garbage then it effect the health of that animals. It is very common in the India. Cheaper clothes are budget friendly but the material is not good.
To sum up, few expensive clothes are much better then lots of cheaper clothes because with cheaper clothes we can wear everyday another dress but the quality is also cheap and it is also not environment friendly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding quality and environmental impact are relevant and supported with examples, such as the jacket scenario and the issue of waste in India. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; the explanation of environmental impact could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, merely restating points rather than synthesising them. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the implications of the chosen position rather than just listing benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To first and foremost', 'As a result', and 'To sum up', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the connection between the environmental argument and the specific example of cows in India is a bit abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'that type of garbage') is precise will help elevate the score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'friendly with environment' instead of 'environmentally friendly' and 'garbage it' instead of 'dispose of it'. The use of 'lost of cheaper one' is also a collocation error. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'fabric', 'materials', and 'pollution', the overall lexical range remains somewhat basic. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'people have different views regarding buy few expensive clothes' (should be 'regarding buying'), 'the color and the design will not be faded' (should be 'will not fade'), and 'it effect the health' (should be 'it affects'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with article usage and verb forms. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and verb tenses.
