Student answer (Band 6.5)
In modern world, we see changes everyday from technology to cloths as well. There are lot of options available in clothing form 10 $ to 1000 $ and it is up to your expenditure habits individually.
I would share both sides of the views with my opinion in the conclusion.
Looking at positive side, there are ample of reasons to buy expensive clothes like style, current trends and standing out in the public space with proud. Lot of people buy expensive items for sense of experience that show in the personality when they go out wearing good clothes feels confident and well dressed. For example, people who is working at higher positions like CEO or senior managers that helps them to stand out in meetings with their clients. Moreover, some people would like to pay extra money for good quality over the quantity for various reasons. When someone pay more money than they will get a clothes from big brands that are trusted over the years for selling best material that last longs and follows trends as well.
There are some reasons to buy different and low priced clothing. Many youngsters who want to follow trends from the televisons or cinema they will buy cheaper clothes in different fashions. There are lot of copies available with non famous brand with cheaper price that solve both problems of young generation. Apart from that, around 80 % of the people are living with middle class income so they will choose cheaper cloths that can fit in within their budget.
To conclude, I would partially agree on the statement because of different income levels choose accoreding to budget and current requirements of their lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that expensive clothes provide confidence and status, the explanation remains superficial. Similarly, the points regarding cheaper clothing are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis of the long-term economic impact. Your position is stated in the introduction and conclusion, but it is somewhat neutral ('partially agree') rather than clearly argued. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph contains a fully developed argument that directly supports your stance, rather than simply listing reasons.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Apart from that', and 'To conclude' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between discussing CEO attire and the general benefit of quality materials could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'both problems' without explicitly defining the two problems mentioned previously. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring tighter logical connections will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'expenditure habits', 'public space', and 'middle class income'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'ample of reasons' (should be 'ample reasons'), 'non famous brand' (should be 'lesser-known brands'), and 'clothes from big brands that are trusted over the years' (should be 'reputable brands'). Spelling errors like 'cloths' (instead of 'clothes') and 'accoreding' also occur. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and proofreading for basic spelling mistakes to ensure your vocabulary is used with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people who is working', 'someone pay more money'), article misuse ('the positive side', 'the televisons'), and awkward phrasing ('that solve both problems of young generation'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Practising complex sentence structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences will also help you demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
