Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era few people believe that it is better to purchase just a some expensive clothes, rather than too much cheaper clothes. I completly agree with this notion.
To begin with, the first reason behind this agreement is expensive things provide comfort. As we all know we spend money on clothes if they are branded clothes so it gives us comfort and improves our outer appearance. We can use expensive clothes long time. While cheaper clothes can not provided comfort and we can not use as long term. To cite an example, it can be seen that people who wear branded clothes their outer appearance is very good rather than who wear cheaper clothes.
In addition, the second cause behind this agreement is luxury items can boost your confidence in society. It represents your high and luxurious life style. Individuals who wear expressive things, society gives respect compared to people who wear cheaper things. Some time cheaper clothes can be harmful for our skin. It can cause allergy. For instance, celebrities always prefer to wear luxurious clothes to be top of the town. Furthermore it improves their outer physics.
To conclude, due to discussed points this essay has the same understanding that luxurious clothes are very good than cheaper clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding comfort and social status are relevant, they are not fully developed. The arguments are somewhat repetitive, and the examples provided, such as the mention of celebrities, are quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'In addition', 'To conclude'). Additionally, some transitions between sentences are slightly abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the flow between sentences is smoother and less formulaic.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. You rely on basic terms like 'expensive' and 'cheaper' throughout the text. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'outer physics' (likely meaning 'appearance') and 'expressive things' (likely meaning 'expensive items'). Spelling errors like 'completly' also occur. To improve, focus on learning synonyms and more precise collocations related to consumer habits and fashion to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'cheaper clothes can not provided comfort' and 'people who wear branded clothes their outer appearance is very good'. There are also issues with article usage and pluralization. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
