Student answer (Band 6.5)
People often argue whether they should spend money to buy occasional expensive clothing or invest heavily to purchase inexpensive clothes. While some people support in the former statement, other have faith in the latter. In my opinion, I somewhat agree with the notion that it is always a preferable choice to buy some costly products to wear. This essay will explain the reasons for my viewpoint.
The primary reason why I support this view is that expensive apparels helps people to build their charisma. Individuals who works in a corporate environment always have to deal with the client meetings on a frequent basic. As a result, wearing expensive products often receive compliments by others, which boost their confidence and do better in the gatherings. For example, in a diverse country such as India, society celebrate different festivals, and for each occasion people invest heavily to buy traditional clothing. Therefore, this demonstrate that who invest in high-priced items generally enjoy the moment more.
Another important reason is that people buy cheaper clothes because of financial strain. Humans who are not financially strong tend to avoid to invest in extravagant clothing because some of them work in a labour environment such as construction or gardening. This type of jobs includes working in an outdoor conditions, which leads to make clothes filthy, and requires everyday wash. So investing in costly products might disrupt their budget. For instance, large number of people in Bangladesh work in the motor factories, dealing with grease everyday and makes their clothes dirty. Therefore, it is an ideal choice to purchase lots of cheaper clothes based on the working condition.
Having said that, this will always be a debatable topic either to buy expensive clothes or make a pile of cheaper clothes. In my viewpoint, in a some working circumstances investing pricey clothing would be a better approach but not always.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for both sides of the argument, which is a good approach. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph discusses the benefits of expensive clothing, the second paragraph focuses more on the necessity of cheaper clothes for specific professions rather than directly comparing the two concepts as requested. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more tightly focused on the comparison between 'few expensive' versus 'lots of cheaper' items, rather than just describing why people choose one or the other based on their job.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. You use cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another important reason', and 'For instance' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing. For example, in the final paragraph, the phrase 'in a some working circumstances' is slightly awkward and disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would help the essay move more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'corporate environment', 'financial strain', and 'extravagant'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural collocations, such as 'support in the former statement' (should be 'support the former statement') and 'make a pile of cheaper clothes'. Additionally, there are minor word-choice errors, such as 'expensive apparels' (apparel is an uncountable noun). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the vocabulary from being considered 'flexible' or 'precise' enough for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('expensive apparels helps', 'Individuals who works'), incorrect preposition usage ('compliments by others'), and article errors ('in a some working circumstances'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of your main points. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization rules, as these are consistent patterns of error in your writing.
