Student answer (Band 6.0)
In my opinion it is better to buy few expensive clothes, rather than lots of cheaper clothes, to support my statement I have provided reasons to support in paragraph stated below.
first and foremost reason is the expensive clothes have reason behind its cost in most of the case. the quality, durability and comfort in clothes are taken into consider while making the clothes and this factor lead to increase the cost of product which result into making them expensive to support this statement i would like to give an example take a levi's jeans and take a Normal jeans lets say worth 25$, we can say both the product do same job but when it comes to quality and durability levi's last many years as watch are made from special type of fabrics and leather and also tested in lab before they role out on other hand cheap jeans is made out of polyester which is not only a low quality but also have bad environmental effects.
Secondly I would like to say expensive is associate with a brand so a brand spend long hours in making there respective product as they undergo research, testing hence provide an end product which is different from cheap product where in primary purpose of both clothes may be same but a clothes which is expensive has undergone research which lead to making them expensive.
In nutshell, in light of above mentioned reason I agree with statement and I am a firm believer of having few clothes which are expensive and good in quality over cheaper and low quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding quality, durability, and brand research are relevant and supported by examples, such as the comparison between Levi's and cheaper alternatives. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph, where the focus on 'research' echoes the points made in the first paragraph. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the environmental or economic implications of 'fast fashion' versus 'slow fashion' to provide more depth. The introduction is also quite weak and could be more formal.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'first and foremost' and 'secondly' to signal your points. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and run-on sentences. For example, the transition 'to support my statement I have provided reasons to support in paragraph stated below' is redundant and awkward. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences are clearly demarcated with proper punctuation would significantly enhance the readability and cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'durability,' 'environmental effects,' and 'respective product.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'role out' (should be 'roll out') and 'expensive is associate with' (should be 'associated with'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the sophistication or precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that word forms (e.g., verbs vs. adjectives) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'expensive clothes have reason,' 'a clothes which is expensive'), missing articles, and run-on sentences where clauses are not properly joined. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
