Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is a good choice to buy some expensive clothes, rather than many cheaper clothes. I believe that purchasing fewer branded clothes is a better decision one should make. we will delve more into this in the following paragraphs.
There is a plethora of benefits of buying few expensive clothes. First, Branded clothes enhances your look which make you feel confident. Further, In today's competitive edge world it is more vital that you present yourself in a way that people feel confident in you. For instance, it is always said that the book is judged by its cover, the same goes with human. Second, Expensive clothes last longer and hence we save a lot of money. we are usually hesitant in buying branded clothes because of the price, however we do not realize its worth compare to cheaper clothes. For example, people who tends to buy cheaper clothes spend more than the one who buys expensive clothes because the low price clothes wears off in no time.
Additionally, I believe in today faced technology, not only your hard work but also your appearance goes hand in hand with it, if you want to succeed. For example, one of my senior has excellent skills yet, she was not liked or appreciated as compared to other colleagues in her role.
To conclude, I firmly believe that one should buy more branded clothes than lot of cheaper clothes as , expensive clothes last long and well as boast your confidence. And, today it is not a priority but, a necessity to present yourself along with your skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. The ideas are relevant, focusing on confidence, durability, and professional presentation. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example regarding the senior colleague is vague and does not fully illustrate how the quality of clothing specifically impacted her professional success, leaving the argument slightly under-developed. While the main points are clear, the essay would benefit from more detailed explanations or more concrete examples to fully support the claims made. The position is consistent throughout the text, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'First', 'Second', 'Additionally', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly repetitive in structure. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall progression of ideas is logical, which aligns with the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts to use less common items like 'plethora' and 'competitive edge'. However, there are several inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'today faced technology' (likely meaning 'fast-paced') and 'boast your confidence' (should be 'boost'). Some phrasing is slightly awkward, such as 'the book is judged by its cover, the same goes with human'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning, these errors and the lack of more sophisticated, precise language limit the score to a 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Branded clothes enhances', 'people who tends to buy'), punctuation errors (missing commas, unnecessary spaces), and awkward sentence construction ('the same goes with human'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. The range of structures is sufficient, but the lack of control over basic grammar prevents a higher score. The current level of accuracy is consistent with the Band 5.5 descriptor.
