Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the modern era of fashion, most of the people go with the flow of western clothes, which are quite expensive, whereas, small group of people opine that buying many cheaper clothes instead of getting some expensive clothes is a better option and it will increase their collection of clothes. I agree with the latter view before explaining my opinion, i will discuss both the perspectives.
To commence with, the view of buying some luxury wear is a kind of show off. Many individual buy expensive appearance to show their status and look rich. People should buy clothes according to their comfort but it is not true that always expensive clothes are comfortable. For instance, the headline of BBC(British broadcast corporation) revealed that people who bought the t-shaped shirts from Versace experience itching and rashes because of their metal design. Hence, it cleared that not always luxurious clothes are suitable for everyone. People buy these outfits only because they have seen their favourite celebrity wore that, even they do not have any need for that thing.
However, a person can also look good and beautiful in some cheaper clothes. To cite an example, the famous singer named "Arijit Singh" in India always wear his traditional clothes and some simple suits, but have a huge fan following. It indicates no matter what type of clothes you wear, if someone has to like you then there is no need to show your luxury. Moreover, a person can buy many clothes in the same budget if he is not going to the expensive side. Also, he can save money and manage his expense easily.
Overall, people choose should their dressing according to their comfort not just go with fashion and always buy the expensive outfits. An individual can look perfect even in some cheaper clothes. According to me, people must buy budget-friendly clothes because it saves their money and they will have a huge collection of outfits which will help them in future also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons and examples to support your argument, such as the mention of celebrity influence and personal comfort. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'saving money' is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of long-term value or quality. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is expanded with more depth and analytical detail rather than just stating the idea. The structure is clear, and the position is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5-7.0 level of task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'However', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of luxury clothes and the example of Arijit Singh could be more tightly integrated. Referencing is generally clear, but there are minor issues with sentence-level cohesion that prevent the response from reaching the higher bands. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'luxury wear', 'budget-friendly', and 'fan following'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'expensive appearance' instead of 'expensive clothing' or 'expensive side' instead of 'expensive options'. Additionally, the phrase 'headline of BBC' is slightly unnatural. While you attempt to use a variety of words, the control is not always precise. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and avoid repeating simple terms like 'clothes' too frequently throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'most of the people go with the flow', 'many individual buy', and 'people choose should their dressing'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'celebrity wore that'). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed with correct word order and punctuation.
