Student answer (Band 6.0)
Although, many people believe that purchasing a few expensive clothes is better to have lots of cheaper clothes is convincing. I think in a reverse manner and disagree to the given statement. My inclination is justified in the ensuing paragraphs.
Out of all the arguments of having branded clothes rather than bunch of cheaper clothes, the strongest one to prove my view is that people can buy number of clothes with cheapest price and it is a good and useful thing. For example, People can wear a different kind of clothes in every function and no one will judge your clothes whether it is expensive or cheaper. Along with this, individuals can save money by not spending too much money for expensive clothes.
On the other reason to prove my point is that people have limited choices of clothes in their wardrobe if they buy expensive one, but if they purchase plenty of cheaper clothes then they can showoff by wearing a different kind of clothes everyday.
On the contrary, some people counter claims the mentioned support. The foremost argument they do is that the quality of expensive clothes is long-lasting rather than cheaper clothes. Also, an expensive clothes gives a value and good impression in front of the public.
Thus, to wrap up the discussion, it can be said that despite of buying just a few branded clothes is better rather than number of cheaper clothes, my reasons that shows people can adopt trending fashion by purchasing lots of cheaper clothes rather than stuck in selected expensive clothes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'showing off' by wearing different clothes is a surface-level point that could have been better supported with more sophisticated reasoning about consumer habits or financial management. While the counter-argument is acknowledged, it is brief and lacks a detailed rebuttal. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand your arguments with more specific examples or logical analysis rather than repeating the same point about variety in different phrasing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Along with this', 'On the contrary', and 'Thus, to wrap up'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as the opening sentence which is grammatically fragmented and awkward. Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the flow between your supporting points and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help to improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'clothes', 'cheaper', and 'expensive'. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'purchasing a few expensive clothes is better to have lots of cheaper clothes' and 'in a reverse manner'. To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to consumerism, fashion, and personal finance. Using more precise synonyms and collocations would demonstrate a higher level of lexical control and make your writing more engaging.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'Although, many people believe that... is convincing' (incorrect sentence structure), 'no one will judge your clothes whether it is expensive or cheaper' (incorrect clause structure), and 'despite of buying' (incorrect preposition usage). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and conjunctions will be beneficial.
