Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument, but the development of ideas is superficial and lacks depth. While you state your preference, the reasoning is repetitive and lacks clear, logical support. For example, the argument that expensive clothes are 'decent n stylish' is not well-explained, and the discussion on 'middle class people' is somewhat disconnected from the main argument. To improve, you should focus on providing specific, well-developed examples for each point rather than listing general observations. The position is present but could be more consistently maintained throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the structure is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as 'The first paragraph will suggest' and 'the second paragraph will suggest'. These phrases are meta-commentary rather than actual cohesive links. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, making the flow of ideas difficult to follow at times. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to connect your ideas more naturally and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, clear main point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'clothes', 'buy', and 'expensive', without attempting to use synonyms or more precise terminology. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Repeating clothes' instead of 'wearing the same clothes' and 'have not affordable' instead of 'cannot afford'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more academic or topic-specific terms and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('There are many people use to'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which hinders readability. For instance, 'now a days shopping is very popular, There are many people use to online shopping' contains punctuation and structural errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevents a higher score. Focus on mastering simple sentence structures before attempting more complex ones, and pay close attention to verb tenses and pluralization.
