Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that it is good idea to purchase costly garments rather than spending money on more lower-price clothes. While some people hold this view, I completely agree with this opinion. This essay will explain the reasons for my view.
There are many reasons behind this opinion. The main is reason is that better quality. The expensive attire always gives best quality that is last for many months than expectation. This is because manufacturing companies are using real good for making it. For example, the coats of Zara and Roots are lasting approximately two years and they also give warranty for their clothes. Moreover, although cheap clothes give variety of style choice, the expensive attires save money over the time. Customer don't need to buy clothes as frequently as cheaper ones.
Furthermore, the production of clothes has developed rapidly because of lower-price products, which can be severe problem for the environment. To explain this, The lots of a trash is hard to compost at once. As a result, It helps to increase pollution in the world. However, In order to save environment, buying branded clothes is the better solution. For example, according to report of Times of India, 20% trash of clothes enhance the pollution and it affects the global warmings in last five years.
In conclusion, I believe that It is better to buy expensive clothes than the cheaper once because it is not only provide better quality but also save your money and the costly clothes help to protect environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding quality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the environmental argument is a bit simplistic, and the example regarding the 'Times of India' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more nuanced explanations rather than relying on brief, repetitive statements. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall development remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'The main is reason is that better quality', which lacks a proper subject-verb structure. Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'the cheaper once' instead of 'ones') is accurate would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic descriptors like 'expensive' and 'cheaper' throughout the essay. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'lower-price clothes' instead of 'lower-priced' and 'real good' instead of 'high-quality materials'. The phrase 'cheaper once' is a spelling error for 'ones'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'The expensive attire always gives best quality that is last for many months', which contains errors in article usage and verb tense. You also struggle with subject-verb agreement and sentence fragments, such as 'The lots of a trash is hard to compost'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and article usage.
