Student answer (Band 5.0)
So, buying cheaper clothes is wasted money instead of buying expensive clothes. I really agree with this statement and I will provide you some reasons to support my statement.
Firstly, cheaper clothes are not proper in look and also not proper in fitting but some people believe that buying lots of cheaper clothes is more worth instead of buying expensive clothes. Nowdays, in market there is so many shop who are selling cheaper clothes same as luxury brand.
Secondly, expensive clothes are very costly but the after wearing that clothes you feel like you have wear some thing special. For instance, In my life I also used to wear cheaper clothes and everytime I don't look at expensive clothes because market have every brand of duplicate copies but after I stared wearing branded clothes I just feel very different and also I look myself very special. So, there is every luxury brand has their duplicate quality.
Futhermost, expensive clothes is far better than cheaper because there is so many little detailing fabric are use in expensive clothes so that why expensive clothes is worth it.
In conclusion, I used to say that people go with expensive taste in your life instead of cheaper things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 204 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and repetitive. While you clearly state your position, the arguments are under-developed. For example, you mention 'little detailing' in expensive clothes but do not explain how this impacts durability or value. To improve, you must expand your points with more detailed reasoning and specific examples. The conclusion is also very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points. Because the response is under-length and lacks sufficient development, it falls into the lower band range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes awkward, such as the shift from discussing 'duplicate copies' to 'little detailing'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'luxury brand' and 'duplicate quality' is confusing. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'cheaper clothes' and 'expensive clothes' are used repeatedly throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'not proper in look' (should be 'do not look good') and 'more worth' (should be 'better value'). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'luxury brand' and 'detailing', but the overall range is insufficient to express complex ideas. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate synonyms and more precise collocations to avoid repetition and demonstrate a broader control of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('there is so many shop', 'expensive clothes is'), article usage ('in market'), and sentence structure ('after wearing that clothes you feel like you have wear some thing special'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Additionally, practice using complex sentence structures correctly, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
