Student answer (Band 6.0)
It has been argued by some individuals that buying some expensive clothes is a better approach than purchasing cheap clothes in large number. i personally believe, having more is better than having more and expensive clothes.
Having less number of expensive clothes do have several benefits. First of all, the primary reason is the quality of cloth, mostly the branded clothes are durable so, they can be used for long term. Secondly, wearing such clothes builds the confidence in the people when going for meetings, restaurants. Additionally, these clothes are eco-friendly as recycling the clothes in bulk can be harmful for the environment and especially for the soil because of dumping.
However, having more clothes provide a variety to the people. Therefore, they do not get bore of repeating the same dress over time. Other reason is the affordability, not everyone can purchase costly clothes so, they prefer to buy affordable clothes in a good quality which suits them better. Moreover, having variety of clothes is beneficial for casual occasions. For instance, if someone's routine is to go to library, cafes, they do no need to repeat the same clothes. Not every occasion requires expensive clothes so, it better to have quantity of clothes as well.
In conclusion, it is important to have expensive clothes because of the quality and durability but having more clothes provide variety and people do not get bore for wearing clothes repetitively.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt and presents a clear position, though the argument is somewhat balanced rather than taking a firm stance. The ideas are relevant, but the development is limited by the word count, which falls below the 250-word minimum. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure that your position is consistently maintained throughout the essay. The under-length penalty is applied here, as the response fails to meet the minimum requirement, which restricts the depth of your analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', 'Additionally', and 'However' to link your ideas. While the progression is generally clear, the transitions between some sentences feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is mostly accurate, though some sentences are short and choppy, which affects the overall flow. To reach a higher band, try to use more sophisticated linking phrases and ensure that your paragraph structure supports a more complex development of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'eco-friendly', 'recycling', and 'durability'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'having less number of expensive clothes' (should be 'fewer') and 'do not get bore' (should be 'bored'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoid basic grammatical errors in word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'having more is better than having more and expensive clothes' (which is confusing) and 'do no need to repeat' (should be 'do not'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
