Student answer (Band 6.0)

Purchases of few expensive clothes it better that buying a alot of cheap qulity cloths is better. I am completely agree with this statement. This essay will discuss about the thing that matters in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with luxury cloths hold there value. Firstly, we all know every company that produce any type of expensive stuff of the customer always keep there stock limited. The fan following for there maintain there value of product. People can wear it and still sell it outside because when limited stuff soldout the only option is buying that same item from reseller. For instance, Nike Jordan 3 That comes with KD signs were produced only 700 sets and the actual price was 1850$. Now in reseller market that same product is selling for more that 4000$ which is a great return of money.

Moreover, Expensive clothes are much better for your skins. Many companies that are selling low quality product they are trying to use low so that they can increase there profit but of the other hand brands have to use good quality because they can get sued by the customer if something happened wrong which is not good for the company goodwill. For example, In 2021 research done by Italy labs shows that cloths produced by Temu company are causing skin cancer to many people and this is the reason that Temu is ban from many Europe countries.

In conclusion, I believe buying cheap cloths give you more options to wear but in long run it can cause many type of health problem to a person. Instead of buying cheap stuff folk have to consider quality over quantity.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding resale value and health/quality are relevant and supported with examples, such as the Nike Jordan reference and the mention of Temu. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The first paragraph is quite repetitive, and the introduction is weak, failing to clearly paraphrase the prompt. While the ideas are relevant, they could be extended further to demonstrate a more sophisticated level of critical thinking. The conclusion is brief but summarizes the main points effectively. Overall, the response meets the requirements of the task but lacks the depth of analysis expected at higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the thing that matters in upcoming paragraphs', which is vague. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher score. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'cloths' instead of 'clothes', 'qulity', 'there' instead of 'their') and some awkward collocations, such as 'fan following for there maintain there value'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'reseller market' and 'goodwill', the overall lexical control is inconsistent. The repetition of basic words like 'cheap' and 'expensive' limits the sophistication of the writing. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and expanding their range of synonyms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('companies... are trying to use'), incorrect word forms ('I am completely agree'), and punctuation errors. The misuse of 'there' for 'their' is persistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on proofreading for common grammatical slips and ensuring consistent control over basic sentence construction.
