Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern world, the significant number of individuals who prefer to buy expensive clothes instead of buying inexpensive. These lead to maintain the high status among the societies. I strongly agree with the laid statement and give the appropriate reasons behind it in the further paragraphs.
To commence with, the most obvious reason behind buying lavish clothes is that the higher number of people want to maintain their status in the modern society. This is to say that If they wear a pricey attires, their personality will be attracted to other people which aid them to earn more respect. This also help them to make strong bond with rich and renowned persons. For example, many people make a big friend circle by wearing luxurious clothes which help them to make their status. Consequently, expensive clothes is essential for earning respect and maintaining high status in the communities.
On the other hand, affordable clothes have some advantages. First of all, money can be saved. This means if people buy clothes in less money, they will utilize their savings in any emergency situation. Secondly, people live their lives without any peer pressure or stress while buying cut-price clothes. However, the materials of branded clothes suit on everybody because some times, cheap materials cause skin problems like irritation, itching, etc. Thus, Expensive clothes are more suitable to mitigate skin issues.
To sum up, although economical attires have some advantages, expensive clothes are not only benefit for skin but also maintain status as well as personality in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'status' is repetitive, and the point about skin irritation from cheap materials is a bit tangential to the core debate of quality versus quantity. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments lack depth and nuance, often relying on generalizations. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or logical explanations that connect the quality of clothing to broader lifestyle or economic impacts rather than just social status.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by grammatical inaccuracies. For example, the transition 'This is to say that If they wear a pricey attires' is slightly awkward. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother if the sentences were linked with more sophisticated cohesive structures rather than simple connectors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'lavish', 'renowned', and 'mitigate'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation that occasionally impede the natural flow. For example, 'pricey attires' (attire is usually uncountable), 'make a big friend circle' (unnatural collocation), and 'expensive clothes is essential' (subject-verb agreement error). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the inaccuracies suggest a limited control over precise usage. Expanding your vocabulary to include more idiomatic collocations would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Frequent issues include subject-verb agreement ('expensive clothes is essential'), article usage ('in the modern society'), and pluralization ('a pricey attires'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, you need to focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with plurals and verb agreement, before attempting more complex sentence structures. The punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels forced.
