Student answer (Band 6.0)
In Modern society, clothing has sparked immense debate. Some individuals believe although at cheaper rates anyone can purchase quantity of clothes, buying expensive items would be beneficial idea. I definitely agree with this notion because expensive clothes have better quality therefore eventually they will reduce textile waste.
On one hand, the primary reason why I hold this view is expensive clothes are available in durable materials. Beacuse of this quality items will stay longer period of time. For instance, If you buy expensive jacket, it comes with thick layers so you can wear same jacket next to many winters. As a result, people can help to decrease environmental pollution.
On other hand, Buying cheap clothes has more drawbacks such as individuals could spend more money on their regular shopping compared to occasionally purchase of expensive items. Additionally, the quality of those garments does not give satisfaction. As an illustration, cheap clothes can tear easily or fade after some washes therefore those clothes will not be wear by anyone. Moreover throwing garments will end up in landfills sites. Furthermore, producing reduce amount of clothes means using fewer natural resources. Thus result in, saving our environment.
To sum up, I strongly agree with my view that lots of cheaper clothes are not advisable. This is because of quality issue and effect on nature. I would encourage the idea of buying less frequent and expensive better quality of clothes. If we follow these steps we can successfully safeguard the cost of clothing and environment for future generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding durability, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness are relevant and logically developed. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the environmental benefit of buying fewer clothes is mentioned in both the first and second body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the economic or social implications with more distinct points rather than restating the environmental argument. Overall, the response is well-focused and directly answers the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use cohesive devices such as 'On one hand,' 'On other hand,' and 'As an illustration' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'Thus result in,' which is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, 'this notion' in the introduction refers back to the prompt, but the connection could be smoother. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help achieve a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'durable materials,' 'garments,' and 'landfills sites.' There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'occasionally purchase' (should be 'occasional purchases') and 'not be wear' (should be 'not be worn'). While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, some phrasing remains basic or slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that word forms (nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' environment), verb forms ('not be wear'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. For example, 'Beacuse of this quality items will stay longer period of time' lacks necessary articles and prepositions. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your accuracy.
