Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, people love to purchase new clothes. I think it is good option to purchase some costly attires, instead of plently of low quality clothes. From my perspective, I totally agree with this statement, which I will elaborate in upcoming paragraphs.
Initially, people buy high priced clothes just because of better qauality. I think that one time investment is good. So, people love to wear branded clothes on special ocassions, which puts positive impact on others. And one thing is that pricey clothes have better condition as compared to cheaper clothes. therefore, people give preference to expensive clothes. For example, H&M has more sale rather than urban behaviour because everyone's knows H&M has better quality and designs as compared to urban behaviour.
Furthermore, people love to purchase clothes just because of durability, which leads to long term cost-effectiveness. Because society of knows that if people spend enough money on clothes, they can feel satifaction. As well, expensive garments have better stiches, better textile and manufacturing, which is essential for everyone who love to purchase pricey clothes. Moreover, boost confidence level. individuals love to buy costly clothes. Because they want to feel confident in front of others, which may increase the level of confidence and growth opportunties. This is way people love to spend big amount of money on professonal clothes.
To conclude, I agree with this statement because people love to spend money on pricey clothes because it has better quality, long lasting and one thing, which is significant for people who want to gain their personal confidence for wearing expensive outfits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. The ideas are relevant, focusing on quality, durability, and confidence. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'confidence' is mentioned twice without significant expansion. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting examples, such as the mention of H&M, are not fully developed or logically connected to the argument about 'expensive' clothing, as H&M is generally considered a fast-fashion, affordable brand. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples and ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Initially,' 'Furthermore,' and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing (e.g., 'And one thing is that...'). Referencing is generally clear, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother progression of ideas. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is functional, but the concluding paragraph merely restates the introduction without adding a sense of finality or synthesis.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'plently,' 'qauality,' 'ocassions,' 'satifaction,' and 'stiches,' which indicate a lack of control over common vocabulary. While you attempt to use some topic-specific terms like 'cost-effectiveness' and 'manufacturing,' the overall range is limited. The repetition of basic phrases like 'people love to purchase' and 'expensive clothes' restricts the lexical range. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring accurate spelling of common words to avoid distracting the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading, such as 'everyone's knows' instead of 'everyone knows,' and 'This is way people love' instead of 'This is why.' Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence boundaries and article usage (e.g., 'boost confidence level'). While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly enhance the accuracy of your writing.
