Student answer (Band 6.0)

Most of the people thinking that to purchase a costlier clothes or branded clothes rather than cheap or unbranded clothes. I agree with those who invest their money into branded clothes because it is more relieble and material of clothes are made for long term use. In this essay I will mention strong examples of why people are more into buying expensive clothes.

Buying expensive or branded clothes for daily wear can helps individuals for its comfort materials and fabric the manufracturar uses. They use high quality of wool, threads and long lasting colours that never vanished after so many washes. Nowadays branded stores are available near every residency properties and also they doing online deliveries through their website which more reliable for 24/7 shopping. For example, Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc has their factory outlet stores and online websites to purchase branded clothes, boots, gymwear and many more items with discounted prices.

Another advantage of buying expensive clothes is sense of pride. Currently those who wear expensive and branded clothes think that they looking more asthetically handsome and beautiful. Some people think that having branded clothes on they feel more confident. In addition, they are also investing more into than buying an asset for them because of trend and earning a lot to comparing with past. Such as buying Leakers and NBA player's clothes and their shoes are becoming collections of many peoples and it is an asset for them.

To conclude, I am with those people who are investing in branded or expensive clothes for its comfort, high-quality materials and stays for a long time. While cheaper clothes are more likely to shrink and fade away after 1 or 2 washes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding durability and social status are relevant, though the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about 'assets' is mentioned but not fully explained or logically connected to the broader argument about clothing quality. While the task is addressed, the ideas could be extended with more depth to reach a higher band. The introduction is slightly disjointed, but the overall stance is consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as the transition 'In addition, they are also investing more into than buying an asset'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth flow. While the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional awkward phrasing limit the coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'residency properties' instead of 'residential areas' and 'manufracturar' (spelling error). The range is limited, relying on basic descriptors like 'expensive' and 'cheap' repeatedly. To improve, you should focus on using more precise synonyms and collocations related to consumer habits and product quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Most of the people thinking that to purchase a costlier clothes' (incorrect verb form and article usage) and 'can helps individuals' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. More attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage is required.
