Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is always a debate either to buy few expensive clothes other than many cheaper clothes. I strongly agree with this trend that buying few expensive clothes would be ideal rather than buying many cheaper clothes.
To begin with, most the expensive dress quality of the product would be amazing rather than the cheaper dress. Also the product will take time to fade away. For an instance, I purchased a dress from Zara few years back. I bought that shirt for $80 and I'm still using that shirt. However I recently purchased a tees from Xogo I got it for $12 but the product is torn with a month. Even I used to purchase cheap clothes but my friends explained the cons in that so I realized my mistake.
Secondary reason would be washing the clothes. Most the clothes while washing the threads would wore off. Sometimes the clothes might shrink as well after using the dryer. For an example one of my cousin purchased the shirt from old navy for $15 however after washing and drying the shirt has begin to shrink after few washes. Also another reason would be fading of colour once the product is washed the colours might fade away in cheaper products. In expensive product since they have a quality the fading might take longer time than usual.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people should purchase few expensive clothes rather than many cheap clothes as it has many concerns like quality and fading of colour.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. The ideas are relevant, focusing on durability and quality. However, the development is somewhat limited. The arguments rely heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader societal or economic implications, which keeps the response at a basic level. While the position is consistent throughout, the supporting points could be more thoroughly explored to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief but effectively restates the main stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Secondary reason,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally choppy. For example, the transition between the personal example of the Zara shirt and the general point about cheap clothes is abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is frequent repetition of basic terms like 'clothes,' 'expensive,' 'cheaper,' and 'product.' Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'threads would wore off' or 'the product is torn with a month.' To improve, you should aim to use more precise synonyms and idiomatic expressions related to consumer habits and textile quality. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, preventing a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('most the expensive dress quality... would be'), incorrect verb forms ('threads would wore off'), and awkward phrasing ('there is always a debate either to buy'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are missing articles and preposition errors throughout. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to indicate a lack of control over complex structures.
