Student answer (Band 6.0)

At present, the ratio of spending money on cloth has been increasing day by day. Many people believe that it is the best to purchase few branded clothes, instead of Buying number of cheaper clothes. Although many people think that spending on cheaper is good because they can wear different clothes on various occasions, in my perspective utilising extra money on few clothes will be beneficial in order to that it will not only gives satisfactions but also it is prevent from skin issues. All aspects along with my opening are explicated in the following paragraphs.

To commence with, there are several reason why individuals have to use more money buying small number of clothes. The first and foremost, expensive clothes are comfortable and it will not harmful for the human skin. In other words, while masses are ready to spend huge amount of money on their attire manufactures provide them good quality of clothes and they also work on their material and brand name which provide them name and frame, so they sell better clothes which are already tested in the factories. As a result, using money on these clothes people feel comfortable and save them from many skin diseases. To cite an example, many doctors suggest their patients who are facing skin allergies that they need to wear better material clothes, which may be expensive but conserve them from those problems.

Apart from this, there are several other reasons why people have to buy expensive clothes compare to cheapest one. The most predominant one is that individuals feel confidant. To explicate it, when people wear them they feel that they have been wearing branded clothes which gives them status and respect in the market, where people think that they are belong to privilege background, including celebrities and businessmen's family members. For example, many individuals judge by their looks, at that time people make their good impression on their first meeting.

In conclusion, it can be reiterated that many people believe that citizens have to spend high amount on good clothes which not only made them confidence but also they are respected in the society and I also agree with this, however; other think cheaper clothes they can purchase many pairs which allow them to wear every time new clothes on distinct fesetivals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. The ideas are relevant, focusing on health benefits and social status. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion where the argument is restated without adding new depth. While the main points are supported with examples, such as the mention of skin allergies and social impressions, some arguments are slightly over-generalized. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-developed point rather than circling back to similar concepts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Apart from this', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'All aspects along with my opening are explicated in the following paragraphs'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'utilising', 'explicated', and 'predominant'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'ratio of spending money on cloth', 'name and frame' (likely meaning 'fame'), and 'they are belong to privilege background'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('it will not harmful', 'it is prevent'), article usage, and pluralization ('many reason', 'businessmen's family members'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
