Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, acknowledging both sides of the argument before concluding. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the discussion on environmental impact and professional appearance. However, some arguments could be more thoroughly supported with specific examples; for instance, the mention of 'youth' is a bit general. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, though it slightly repeats the body paragraph content. Overall, the response meets the requirements of the task well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'On the one hand', 'Apart from that', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'Which' at the start of a sentence to connect ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is clear, making the text easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'attire', 'garments', and 'ecosystems'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'promote consumers to decorate their wardrobe' and 'reduce the excessive litter on the earth' (where 'waste' would be more natural). Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'brings advantages' instead of 'bring advantages'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, more precision is needed for a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'buying branded clothes provide comfort', 'it will brings advantages') and article usage. Some sentences are slightly fragmented or awkwardly phrased, such as 'Which facilitate them to build confidence'. Despite these errors, they rarely impede communication. To improve, focus on ensuring verbs agree with their subjects and refining the use of complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
