Student answer (Band 5.5)

I agree with the statement to buy some few clothes rather than spending money on the cheap ones. when we wash expensive clothes its colour does not get fade.

Firstly, its depend on the persons choice some people don't see the price tags they have the better taste in the clothes and don't want too many clothes in their closets. when you wear expensive clothes it enhance your personality. expensive clothes don't have too much copies do have the limited pieces so you don't everyone wearing the same outfits as you. cheap clothe have very bad quality which gets spoil in very few time. specially when you wash them.

secondly, when you buy too many outfits its wastage of you money and some natural resources as well because the industries use some natural colour and electricity. and some of them throw their waste in the water bodies which spoils the earths crust. for instance, i am wearing cheaper clothes i have to buy them in few months and when i go with the expensive ones i can use them for a time. one of my friend wear cheaper clothes she spend more money rather then me on their outfits because she have to throw them after some months. which cause pollution as well.

in conclusion, population should use to buy the expensive clothes rather then the cheap ones. so that we can save the natural resources and our planet earth. And you have less word for keeping their almiras clean.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying fewer, more expensive clothes. The ideas are relevant, touching on quality, personal style, and environmental impact. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding environmental impact is a strong point but lacks specific detail or depth. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and contains some unclear phrasing, such as 'less word for keeping their almiras clean,' which does not clearly relate to the main argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure that every sentence directly supports your central thesis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Firstly' and 'secondly' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'some of them throw their waste,' where the antecedent for 'them' is not explicitly defined. Additionally, the flow is hindered by awkward phrasing, which makes the logical connection between sentences less smooth than required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'too much copies,' 'gets spoil,' and 'almiras.' The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'bad quality' and 'expensive clothes.' To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and ensure that words are used in their correct context. Focusing on collocations (words that naturally go together) would significantly improve the naturalness of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'its depend,' 'one of my friend wear'), article usage, and tense consistency. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence boundaries are clearly marked with appropriate punctuation.
