Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argued that instead of buying lots of cheaper clothes, it is better to purchase some expensive clothes. I fully agree with this opinion as there are numerous positive aspects of expensive things. This essay will discuss the merits of expensive purchases.
To begin with, there are plenty of benefits of spending money on expensive things such as quality and lower health risks. Many folks wants to spend less money and buy more stuff, but sometimes it can create a huge problem with their health. Nobody know that how sellers make the product that we purchase. But whenever people purchase products from a expensive store then the employees of that store gives them grantee for their purchase and if somebody have any health issues from the clothes, they are able to file a case because almost all big companies provide information about the material that they used. But instead of expensive clothes, if buyers purchase anything from local shops to spend less money, they cannot say anything to shopkeeper for the quality.
Apart from that, there are some benefits of expensive purchases. First of all, expensive clothes always have a long life and give a high-class look. The material used in them is always better than cheap clothes, also they give everyone a proper look even by wearing some casual dresses. In addition, masses does not have a need to spend their savings on same cloths after some months because the expensive wearing does not need a proper care and they can easily wash them without a fear of damaging.
To conclude, I would like to give my point of view in favor of expensive wears not only because of quality and health, but also because of their long-lasting experience and cost effective methods.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of buying expensive clothes. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally illogical. For instance, the argument linking expensive clothing to 'lower health risks' and the ability to 'file a case' against big companies is not well-supported or particularly relevant to the general concept of quality versus quantity. While the second paragraph touches on durability and aesthetics, the reasoning remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete, logical examples, such as the environmental impact of fast fashion or the long-term financial savings of durable goods, rather than focusing on health litigation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Apart from that,' and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences can be disjointed. For example, the transition between the health argument and the local shop comparison is abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each sentence builds more naturally upon the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'expensive things' and 'expensive clothes.' There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'expensive wearing' and 'give everyone a proper look.' While your meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to common, everyday words. To improve, aim to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and topic-specific terminology, such as 'fast fashion,' 'durability,' 'cost-per-wear,' or 'consumer habits,' to demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Many folks wants,' 'masses does not have'), article usage ('a expensive store'), and awkward phrasing ('Nobody know that how sellers make'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Additionally, try to vary your sentence structure by using more complex clauses to demonstrate greater grammatical control.
