Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people believe buying few luxury clothes could be worth the money than spending a lot on thrifted or low quality clothes. This is debatable as ones preference could be both or none.
On the one hand, individual buys garments or expensive clothes just to impress social surroundings. The constant need of showing off can often leads to take a monotonous decision. For instance, nowadays teenagers only shops from high end brands. That one dress to impress their followers on social media rather than buying multiple dresses.
On the other hand, there are people who end up buying multiple cheap dresses just to look perfect in one. Some of them believe in thrifting or recycled clothes to provide a sustainable environment for future generations. For example, value village gives you a coupon if you donate clothes or household products. The coupon than can be used to buy second hand products or clothes of your choice. The concept behind reusables is promoted to reduce waste.
I believe, buying one expensive garment can save more money then spending unnecessary on different choices. Not only this will save time but gets you a better quality product. Wearing a perfect dress twice can get you more attention and compliments than wearing a cheap label clothes on every occasion.
In conclusion, spending money on clothes just to gather more views is absurd. Promoting a better quality clothing with attractive discounts can get you same customers who end up spending money on different cheap brands.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding social pressure and sustainability are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by more detailed explanation or evidence to meet the length requirement and provide a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only this will save time but gets you a better quality product'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words will help elevate the score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there is a lack of precision and variety. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'ones preference' (should be 'one's preference') and 'spending unnecessary' (should be 'spending unnecessarily'). The use of 'thrifted' and 'high end' is appropriate, but the overall range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing, such as the frequent use of 'clothes' and 'dresses'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'individual buys' (should be 'individuals buy'), 'can often leads' (should be 'can often lead'), and 'The coupon than can be used' (should be 'The coupon then can be used'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be highly beneficial.
